Painting at the Rhythms of Spice Festival

What a wonderful day to be painting outside and listening to live music! The Rhythms of Spice Jazz event went well and I even sold my painting! I painted in acrylic on three tiny canvases during the show. Compared to other art events and openings, this I say is a fun take on promoting your art. People tend to be able to give your art time without you standing right there talking about it. As an artists, the focus is on making your piece, so the viewers have a chance to breath and really look at the art without feeling pressure from the artist. Although, when doing live painting, especially during a performance, the viewers may feel like they were interrupting us while we worked. I suppose every artist works differently, but I sure didn't mind chatting with viewers. I also really enjoyed sitting in front artwork by Asher Mains https://ashermains.com/ They were portrait paintings in paint and ink, he made the inks by hand using all local Grenadian ingredients.
